Duties:

  • Meets the client's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, determining chiropractic treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Helps client accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting clients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administers chiropractic treatment as appropriate for the individual's preventive and routine care
  • Evaluates effects of chiropractic treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating client's progress, recommending adjustments and modifications.
  • Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers, contributing to client care conferences.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing clients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
  • Documents client care services by charting in client and department records.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects APluscare operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all applicable procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by APluscare. Additional services provided by Licensed Chiropractor include:
  • Initial and ongoing assessments to determine level of functioning, including OASIS assessment at appropriate timepoints
  • Developing and revising the plan of care in consultation with the physician and other care-team members
  • Providing therapeutic treatments and evaluation of equipment needs as applicable
  • Advising and consulting with the family and other agency personnel as applicable
  • Preparing clinical and progress notes
  • Evaluating outcomes of care
  • Participating in in-service programs
  • Planning for discharge Skills/Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Chiropractic (minimum) and Current New Jersey State Chiropractic License
  • Employee must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection or investigation
  • Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Trainings: All must successfully complete the mandatory DDD trainings: Overview of Developmental Disabilities, Abuse and Neglect, Medication Administration, CPR & First Aid, Agency New Hire Orientation, Agency's approved training on handling Life-Threatening Emergencies/ Danielle's Law and other professionally based training deemed necessary by The Open Door NJ
